Where Community and Police Work together for a safer Ward 3
Neighbourhood Watch in Ward 3
For the past 15 years, I have helped establish many Neighbourhood Watch groups across Ward 3, creating safer and more connected communities. These groups have played an important role in reducing crime and building stronger relationships among neighbours.
Neighbourhood Watch is a York Regional Police community program designed to reduce crime through the active participation of residents in crime prevention. It’s about neighbours working together to prevent crime—before it happens.
Few people can protect their homes and property at all times, but by watching out for one another, neighbours can help create a greater sense of safety and security. Members of a Neighbourhood Watch group look out for each other’s homes, report suspicious activity, and work closely with the police to help track down and deter criminal activity.
If you would like to join an existing group or start a Neighbourhood Watch group in your area (if one doesn’t already exist), please email castro.liu@richmondhill.ca and we will be in contact with you.
Together, let’s continue to make Ward 3 a safer and more caring community.
